Universal usually means it almost fits all speedos. I can only describe the Nissan one. The trans cable end has a round metal plug with a small raised edge crimped on that fits into the matching slot on the speedo cog body. Just behind the cable end is a thin rubber nickel sized disc that seals the trans oil from working it's way up the sheath and dripping on the interior floor. The cable end pokes through this seal to engage the trans cog, and the outer cable sheath threads over this and secures it in place onto the cog.The speedo end is squared off and if it doesn't engage the speedometer it will as soon as the vehicle moves.
