2doorTurd
On my 210, if I turn on the park lights, or headlights, it takes at least 30 seconds for the park lights and dash lights to come on. My 310GX did the same thing. Why? Quote Link to comment
Radiant-Designer
I know in my 620 its a loose connection in the light knob thing, I have to push it back in a tiny bit to make the right connection. Quote Link to comment
datsunaholic
On the 210 there's a relay INSIDE the combination switch assembly for the running lights. AS the wires/connectors age the voltage gets too low to close the relay, which makes it heat up and eventually close. My '81 510 does the same thing (it has the same switch assembly) and even my 720 does it occasionally. Cycling the switch quickly SOMETIMES makes them come on faster. Sometimes cleaning the connector between the column harness and the dash harness solves the issue- I've seen a LOT that had gotten quite corroded or even burnt. It's a stupid design- the relay should be up front close to the battery and lights, not compacted into the small space under the column cover. But I guess the running lights, being on all the corners plus in the dash, the column is "centrally located". Quote Link to comment
2doorTurd
"centrally located"..... LOL I will have to look into it. Thanks! Quote Link to comment
