hogboy52
.. CASCADE SPORTS CAR CLUB PRESENTS THE 8 HOURS OF THE CASCADES ENDURANCE RACE @ PIR ON SATURDAY, OCTOBER 15, 2011 Cascades Sports Car Club is now in its 36th year of running endurance races at Portland International Raceway. The race is also the longest running enduro west of the Mississippi. The LeMans start is one of the few remaining in the United States. The October 15th race starts at 1:00 pm and ends at 9:00 pm. as seven classes of cars make up this years field. Three of the classes are "limited" which only allows teams to add 10 gallons of fuel per pit stop, which makes a fast pit crew extremely important. It isn't uncommon for cars in the remaining four classes to go hours before needing a pit stop. Drivers in the last stint or even two will have to adjust to driving in the darkness. Although nighttime racing is more difficult, drivers seem to enjoy the challenge. Admission to the track is FREE. Free is good. Quote Link to comment
