datzenmike Posted August 5, 2011 Report Share Posted August 5, 2011 This is the injector pump??? If so they operate at thousands of PSI to atomize the fuel and has to be able to push the fuel into a 22 to one compression motor. I'd doubt it. Quote Link to comment

I am assuming you mean the "lift" pump. In that case I see absolutely no problem with installing an electric pump as a substitute or in addition to the mechanical pump. My International 7.3 has a mechanical lift pump and it is very common to install an electric replacement. Quote Link to comment
