transmission question

Recommended Posts

Hey guys im new here and i got a few questions. i have a 80 210 with a A15 automatic and im picking up a B210 that i believe is a 75 or 76 with a A14 and a 4 speed. Its been sitting for something like 15 years but im trying to find a little bit of information on putting the 4 speed into my car. Is it a pretty straight forward swap or is there something i need to know about ahead of time? Any help would be appreciated thanks ahead of time

Swapping a B210 4-speed into the B310 is fairly straightforward. Use the B210 driveshaft.

When converting an automatic car to manual, you will need

* manual pedals from another B310 (1979-1982 Datsun 210), as they are different from the B210.

* Bypass the starter inhibitor wiring. This mean adding a jumper wire to the wiring harness that goes down to the automatic.

* Wiring for the reverse lights, etc is different for the two cars (uses different connectors)

all B210 diff ratio is 3.889

1980 B310 with auto could be several different ratios 3.700, 3.889 or 3.454, depending on the engine and whether it is a U, V, or C car. The service manual lists ratios but they don't match the real world. It says on the underhood plate (HB35, HB37, HB39).
