zed
Has anyone tried fitting an aftermarket HID bulb kit to their Datsun or Nissan? I have done this on my Hardbody (35w, 6000k bulbs), but the results are disappointing. The light they give is very bright, but the high beam and dipped beam light position is almost the same on the road. I read that this has something to do with optics, and the fact that the bulb position in the reflector is wrong? Maybe there's a way to modify this? I need good lights on my truck – where I live there are wild animals on the roads at night – dangerous. I have halogen spotlights on the truck, but they draw many amps and my 55amp alternator can’t keep up. Any ideas would be appreciated Quote Link to comment
Laecaon
HIDs are NOT intended for use in Halogen Reflector housings. What size bulb are you running? Quote Link to comment
zed
The standard Halogen bulb is H4 - 55w. The fact that the HID's cannot really be focused properly makes them little better than the H4. Only advantage is less amps Quote Link to comment
