Half Butt Tour, Colorado

Not as many passes as the Iron Butt tour Bruce Over organized last year, but will still have some nice scenery. Most of the route will be on I-70, but at Copper Mountain we will head toward Leadville to 24 and go south to 82. Heading west on 82 we will go over Independence Pass dropping down into Aspen on our way to Glenwood Springs for lunch.

 

We will meet at the Colorado Mills Mall in the Target store parking lot near starbucks on Saturday July 30th at 8am, and leave by 8:30am.

 

There are a couple of places I had in mind for lunch.

 

ribs This is right next to the Colorado river and train tracks.

 

burgers This is on the frontage road west of town.

 

While there are other places to eat lunch, I have always wanted to try one of these.

 

After lunch everyone will be on their own. You can either plan on a stay over night and take in the hot springs or head back to Denver.
