datzenmike Posted April 29, 2011 Report Share Posted April 29, 2011 When working properly the 521 drum brakes are quite good.... but they need attention and adjustment every couple of months to keep them even. Drums tend to pull to one side or the other if just left. Disc brakes seem to be 'set em and forget em'. Disc brakes can be used longer and harder before fade is noticeable. Also under severe panic stop conditions they are slightly harder to lock up and are easier to modulate. Drum brake fronts tend to grab and lock more suddenly. If you are happy with yours keep them and consentrate on something else to modify. Later you can change them. 1 Quote Link to comment
