ll77
Hi everyone My 76 280z doesn't pass smog and I have been working on that for quite a while now (Gross polluter, major CO emissions, everything else is very good). I have done lots of research and a lot of you guys have made helpful suggestions and here's what I've done: Cat is on Ignition timing at 12 BTDC (Stock is 10 BTDC) TPS adjustment New fuel filter New fuel pressure regulator No kinks or blockage in fuel feed line, fuel pressure OK Valve adjustment New oil + filter Cold start valve OK Seafoam in tank + intake Cleaned up and re-soldered injector connectors Removed oxidation from dizzy cap + rotor Adjusted AFM ~6 teeth leaner I have been told by MSA (where PO bought it from) that my rebuilt AFM is the wrong one for my year (A11 600 000) I have recieved a very reliable tip that my AFM is causing problems I was hoping that I could compensate by simply adjusting it. Possible? or no? Today, I visited someone for parts, and he told me that all rebuilt AFMs are crap, and the only good ones are OEM ones. Something about the replacement counterweight being different. Maybe he told me this just so I would buy it. Is this true? I also have what sounds like a misfire from the exhaust (uneven put put put when I put my hand in front of the exhaust) Could this also be a symptom of my AFM mishap? So what do you guys think? Please help, I'm almost done, and I'm so anxious to finally pass smog! I'll take a pic of my AFM asap. THANK YOU! Quote Link to comment
