avidtest
Hi all, I'm trying to hunt down an R180 4.62 and 4.88 Open or LSD (not welded). If anyone has one they want to sell or knows someone who's got one they'd part with, please let me know. Thanks. Link to comment

avidtest
Well, unfortunately, it looks like Troy doesn't have one for sale. Still looking. Anyone? Link to comment
avidtest
BTT. Also looking for a 4.88 R180. Open or LSD. Bueller?...Bueller?.... Link to comment
datzenmike
The '86-'89 WD-21 Pathfinder with 4 cylinder motor had an R-180 4.625 ratio front diff. Link to comment
avidtest
Thanks Mike. I thought there was some incompatibility on the Pathy diffs. I have heard the 79-80 720 4x4's have the correct 4.62 up front (and 4.88 in the diesel versions). Link to comment
datzenmike
The early 4x4 720s only used a 4.375 diffs. The later (with Z24 motors) used 4.11s. There were no diesel 4x4s made. The Pathfinder wih Z24i motor and later Hardbody after '96? with KA motor used a 4.625 R-180 front diff but it had a longer axle stub on the driver's side. I'm pretty sure it will unbolt and a regular stub axle bolts on. The majority of D-21 and WD-21s used a R-200 front diff with the VG motor. Link to comment
avidtest
I think some of the info I was getting applied to either Australian or European 720's and may not apply to their US counterparts. I'd heard that the the early 79-80 720 4x4's had the 4.62's. And that the early 720 diesel 4x4's (Aussie) had the 4.88 ratio R-180's.... My head is going to explode... In either case, thanks for helping clear things up Mike. The early 4x4 720s only used a 4.375 diffs. The later (with Z24 motors) used 4.11s. There were no diesel 4x4s made. King cab 4x4's with 4.375's are easily sourced in Pick-a-Part, at least in AZ. Roger Link to comment
