Dimerforlife13 Posted June 2, 2010 Report Share Posted June 2, 2010 Are you supposed to use the z22 dipstick, L20, or L16/18? Do they differ? I know this has been touched before but what is the better way to go for the headgasket? I've heard Z24, Z22, or L20? Is there a better of those to use? Is a exhaust manifold good enough for a LZ22? I know they are fine on the smaller L series motors. Should I be looking for a header? I'm trying to decide what to do for a cam right now, it will have a 32/36 until I get my harley carb set up going. It will also have some port work done. Is a exhaust manifold good enough for a LZ22? yes. using the Z22 in the stock location may work, depending on the pan... you may run into intereference and need to move it to the oil filter side. just calibrate it before driving it! im using the nismo HG, block was bored to 88.5mm to match the HG, only need 1 additional hole ;) otherwise the Z22 gasket modded w/the L20b for the cover it better be! :P im reusing it from the LZ24 setup, which was good. :) i may be selleing the thorley SS 4-2-1 header, if i like the stock mani... as well as the 40PHH mikunis.
