engine damper (solid?)

Would there be any downsides to making a solid engine damper out of some rod ends and a center adjuster? Just wondering since regular dampers still have some give and I would think it being solid would be benefitial.

I have seen some guys make one out of like a small shock absorber like used in bikes or similar. I have seen it in japan on some 510's and am wondering if I can make or buy one to minimalize engine motion. I would not want to use or makes solid engine mounts as that would send vibration throughout the car.
