samurino
So as I'm gathering up parts and my brother runs up on a 283 chevy it's all there oil pan to air filter. What trans should I be hunting for a 5 speed would be good but a 6 speed would be great. Any suggestions? Thought about doin a automatic with paddle shifts but they are a bit pricey. If you want something more heavy duty, fullsize truck or vette. Fullsize truck trannys are strong but not very fast shifting, and heavy. Quote Link to comment

The 4.3L S10 tranny were excellent little things, but if you want something stronger look at the Sierra 1500 4.3L Vortec tranny's. They take a hell of a beating and are geared really nice. samurino
Sounds like the nv3500 is the way to go but can anyone tell me how to tell the difference between the close ratio and the standard just by looking at it? Quote Link to comment
