dat521gatherer
so my 521 hasn't been starting to well in the morning. i opened the throttle and saw a puddle of gas in the bottom of my intake manifold. i know the carb could use a rebuild but is there a specific problem i should be looking for to address this? thanks Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Webers, specially old ones are very sensitive to flooding if fuel pressure is above 3 PSI. Float level may be set to high. Backfiring can sometimes throw it off. Change your fuel filter. Cut the old one open and see if it's come apart or has dirt in it. Any dirt that gets past it will and can stick in the inlet needle valve which is opened and closed by the float. If it can't close the bowl will over fill with fuel and flood. Quote Link to comment
