The Weber 44 DGEC is not actually made by WEBER!

I just found out the carberator is made by some other company , and all it has is a sticker on the chocke that says WEBER on it.

Is there any truth to this ?

I was told this today by another company selling WEBER carbs today.

He said that the 44 DGEC is just a cheap carb that Weber Direct is selling as a Weber Carb.

I am going to get to the bottom of this on monday when the place opens, becuase if so that will explain all the problems I have been having with my carb up until today when it was finally fixed properly by having it rejetted.

Now it seems to have opened up all the horsepower in my engine, and has gottten rid of the hesitation.

The jets that were in the card wwere too small for the carb , (or at least my application) .

I am mad!
