19 Volts will SO cook a battery. You should have pulled out the field plug the minute you saw that ( Its the plug in the alt w/ the small wires). Then it supercharged your fuel pump, so the high pressure blew out the float needle in the carb and it just started overflowing gas into the intake. White cloud was unburnt gas.
  2. I'll be wanting one for my 810, but the pic links are dead . . . . . . .
  3. Yes, those parking lights 300 sounds fine - PayPal?
  4. NUMBER ONE reason I will never shave a car. Go to the JY (or the webs) and find one you can look at from the inside. My friend broke his hood release, so I went to the yards to find the best way to crack it. Worked like a charm. Also, think about drilling through where the lock cylinder was. The release has got to be right there. What car is it anyway?
  5. I thought I was sick paying so much to bring my bondo queen home, you must be in the masochist hall of fame for that one. Are you going to restore it, or just drive it as is?
  6. How much for these and the euro 810 parking lenses shipped to USA -- Summerfield, FL 34491? thx SB
  7. Front turns still available? Also interested in the grille, chrome wheel well trims, sideview mirror(s), radiator any good?
  8. Well just to keep it interesting, here's the '78 I just bought. Picking it up tomorrow. No dents, nice paint No rust, nice wheels. How about this cherry interior? I'll start my thread as soon as I get it home and take some pics. This would make an awesome RB26/AWD conversion.
  9. Those 720 Nissans are not off an 84, they stopped those colored stripes in 82 or maybe 83. Both my 84's have just a chrome on black NISSAN.
  10. Hmmmmmm - my ratrod buddy has a yard full of 50's airstreams. Wish you were closer . . . . . Well anyway, it's a great 70's custom, and that flex rear is trick.
  11. Yeah, I thought I would drive American cars forever, but that all changed when I worked on a friend's 89 240, and saw what 'right' really looked like. Ended up buying that car, and haven't even looked at anything else since then. 2x 240sx, 2x 720 4x4, 2x '74 260z, now I'm looking at an 810. Guess I'll have to find another one too, since I seem to do them all in 2's. Drifting takes skills, theyre just not much use outside of drifting is all. Also, the only way youre going to get the resto skills is to get into the resto! It doesn't have to take a lot of money, as a matter of fact, the more you spend, the less you're learning IMO.
  12. Theyre not outdated, theyre oldschool! However, what you got there is a 4 cyl. hood, and squeezing 2 more under there isn't for the faint of heart. You'll get rolling faster, cheaper, and happier just putting a modern 4, like an SR20DET, or a KA24DE(T) under there. Good luck with it!
  13. My East Coast 84 4x4 'had' them on it too. But I threw them away when I swapped to a later exh manifold just to get rid of them. It definitely is not a California model, though, so you may find them on 4x4s everywhere - at least 84s.
  14. I know it's a long way back in the thread, but I sure found it easier to pull the motor than the transmission and transfer case when I did my clutch. Best part is that almost all of it was done from the top side, but the downside is you've gotta have an engine hoist, or a tree limb and a come-along that you trust. It's also a great time to do the pilot bushing, both main seals, pan gasket, and the motor mounts too.
