  1. It's cool. I was under the impression the only real change to be made from FWD to RWD on this was flipping the flywheel around. If I didn't know anything about it at all, i would have sworn it WAS a RWD engine. Am I wrong about this? I'm using this engine because I'm in the midwest where Nissans are virtually non-existant. I've been trying for months on Ratsun trying to buy a KA of people, but everyone's falling through on it. No, I don't want to stick the dizzy through the firewall, but I could go the crank trigger route.
  2. Yeah, that's the one I mentioned in my post. I guess I answered my own question about the flywheel. I think I'll probably be able to use the A-series one. All that's left is mounting and switching to a carburetor, along with some firewall work (angle grinder?). Still unsure if the the input shaft/crank needs to be modified.
  3. Okay, so I found a GA15 on the cheaps with low miles. Currently, I have a dead-in-the-water A14 in my 210, with everything attached being mechanically sound. What I have: GA15 with no flywheel A14 (dead) with new flywheel A14 intake and Weber carb 60-series 4-speed, new clutch I have several motor-head supervisors willing to help me, as I'm a complete newb. I've read this topic here: http://community.ratsun.net/topic/15259-ga16de-rwd-trans/, and have some questions. Is there a difference in input shaft length between a 63-series 5-speed and my 4-speed? (Will I have to drill the crank?) Can I substitute the A14's flywheel for the GA's, or should I place an order for one? Am I naive enough that I should abandon this on my time frame of 2 months? Thanks for the help, Ratsun! (There's not much to even take a picture of; this is just theory I guess)
  4. I'm looking for either a KA, L-series, or Z-series to swap into my 210. I will pay extra for the hassle of shipping, for I live in a very Nissan-dry area. If you live in the Portland area, I have people there to speak in person to if you'd like. I need both the engine and transmission, and a 5-speed would be kick-ass. PM me if you'd like to discuss anything.
  5. Well, I'm back to the forums and am trying to find a KA for my 210. It's near impossible in North Dakota, so that's why I'm going to Ratsun. Proximity to Portland would be AWESOME, as my father is there. I need a full engine assembly, motor + tranny, etc. Everything for a full swap. Not sure what the average market price is for these, but I'll make it worth the hassle if you're willing to work with me on a way to ship it to my auto shop. Thanks Ratsun!
  6. 210 wagon? No? Okay....
  7. I've got this A15 that's a little, well, old looking. I also have my A14 with the thrown rod that is in great metallurgical condition. What can I swap back and forth on these engine? I'm assuming the intake/exhaust manifolds, but what about valve covers? Flywheel?
  8. Well, it gets down to about -30F at some points....... Okay, is there a newer alternative to a modded stock air filter? I don't have the original. It'd just be some cutting work in the bottom, right?
  9. Okay, heated air cleaner makes sense. I've read about it on here that it 'maintains' a constant temperature or whatever. How would I set that up with my Weber though?
  10. So........... It just has these plastic caps on it, they might pop off. Any way to remove it, or make it more 'aestetically pleasing'?
  11. Sorry for no (quality) pics! (shop is closed at 5) So I have these 1/4-1/2" stainless pipes coming out of the sides of my exhaust manifold ('Sides' being the relative front and back of engine). They run up and over the valve cover and end capped off. Also on the bottom of the manifold is a wire&fabric 2" 'pipe' coming off. My old A14 had a 2" port in the same spot, but it was on a metal cover for the manifold, and you could see the manifold through/underneath of it. Crappy pics: http://imgur.com/a/oqNsp Is this some sort of exhaust turbo set up, or what? There must have been some reason for wanting to pipe into the exhaust...
  12. 5%, huh? [insert obligatory 'Not Bad Obama' image] Thanks, guys. I wasn't looking for any sort of performance increase from it, just thought a little 'poke through' would be pretty neat.
  13. I was cruising around the gallery, and came upon 510 Bomber's photo of his hood. http://community.rat...ut-of-the-hood/ Underneath, it seems there's some kind of plenum or round angled adapter. Anyone know how I can do this? Looks pretty sick. (I'd ask him, but seems he's been offline since March. :hmm: )
