  1. I got a little ways with a seller on Instagram with a similar name. Tried to get me to Zelle him money, both his random email Zelle accounts were super shady, and Zelle basically wouldn't even let me get any farther. It was a minimal amount of money, so I was going to give it a try, but I couldn't even get that far. Was a pretty poor scammer if you ask me lol.

  2. I have fixed so many leaks (trans, coolant, valve cover) on this thing I am down to the last one.

Everything that I have seen has said that you need to put the car in 4th gear (on a manual car) and you might be able to get the stubborn crank bolt off to replace the seal behind the pulley.  I have a Jatco automatic, do I have to pull the motor to get this thing off?

    Edit: Should mention it's a 1972 4 door Datsun 510 with stock 1.6L

  3. It has been challenging to find any relays for headlights in Datsun 510's. I purchased a 25230-89905 relay and I have a 1972, I threw away my 25230-89905 because I am not smart 🙂. So I am looking for some guidance:

25230-89915 is for later 510's and 25230-89905 for early 510's is what I am seeing when I search the internet. In Dime quarterly Volume 7 Issue 3 it speaks about changing the location of the wires in the 25230-89905 in the plug to make them work properly on later 510's.  Can anyone tell me what wires need to be changed?

  4. That clears it up, thank you very much. I was wondering what everyone was talking about.  I do have the brightness switch and it turns on the light in the dash, but my headlights both turn off. So it is back to the drawing board I guess.

  5. My Headlights don't work when the brights are on, it's been an issue that I have just put on the back burner for a long time, but recently I was browsing Datsun related forums in regards to the headlight issue and noticed mention of a dimmer switch for the dashboard.  I cannot find one in my vehicle, it's a 1972. Does my 510 have one?  And if it does, where is it?  Is it shared with another switch?  Is it an option?

  6. Sorry I have a 72 510 4 door. Yeah I may look for a hubcap in the meantime, they can't be that speedy, right?  Than when the tires wear far enough I do like the mesh style. What offset would work with Ermish racing coilovers?  That is probably the direction I would go.

  7. Last week I had a tire start to go flat, had it patched at the tire shop and put back on. Today I was out on a county road and heard a funny noise, like a tin pang a few times. It went away so I didn't think anything of it. Stopped at the gas station and was missing my hubcap. Went back to where I heard the noise and walked the ditches and can't find it. The bonus is that it was a squeaky hubcap, now I am debating on whether to get a matching hubcap or just get new wheels and tires.  The tires were new when I bought it, so 90% of the tire tread is left on them.
