    L20B & 4 speed ?

So I've been looking for an L20B for nearly a month now with no luck... I just wanted to know if there's somewhere I can look for a motor besides Craigslist , offer up, Letgo and here. I'd also like to know if a 4 speed bolts up to an L20. Ideally I want to find a 5speed but if I don't find one I'll use the 4 speed for now if I can. Thanks

My L16 finally let go in my 620 so Im looking to get an L20B or an L18 & a 5 Speed. I can buy the motor and trans or if your looking to get a KA I have a KA24de out of an Automatic S13 240sx with Approximately 150k , Im willing to trade for the motor & Trans or trade for the motor with cash on your end. Theres a few things I don't have for the KA , I don't have the ECU , Wiring harness , MAF , or Alternator. Lets make a deal that'll benefit the both of us, let me know what you've got Im located in Los Angeles and can pick it up as soon as tomorrow. Thanks Guys.

  5. So a wire is the way to go ? What gauge should i be looking for ?
  6. So i can just use an inline fuse holder and use a 20 amp fuse ?
  7. Crash - im going to work on the truck tomorrow morning ill see wich ones are doing what. If I remember right its the blue white wire closest to the front of the truck that is fried. I dont think its repairable because theres nothing to solder too. So ill probably end up getting a generic one. mike- that makes total sense. Do you know what gauge the fusible link is supposed to be ?
  8. Ok forsure thank you. Do u know what specific wire goes to wich number ? its just one wire completley disconnected at the relay. It has power to the wire but its not going into relay.
  9. Cool , thanks man. Also , what gauge are you guys using for the fusible link ?
  10. Yeah i do and its not working
  11. Yeah i do and its not working
  12. Man i was just sitting here laughing at the fact that it was something so simple.. whats the heater relays purpose ? Automatic choke and heater ?
  13. Fixed it , the two wires that plug into the alt (yellow, white/black) were backwards. Switched them around and the alt started right up. Thank you guys for sharing the knowledge! I Wouldn't have gotten it done without you guys.
  14. Also i dont have the fusible link wired in right now , but thats just for saftey right ?
  15. The wire on relay that is fried is white blue
  16. I snipped the yellow wire going to relay and saw no difference. Still no continuity or charging taking place..
  17. Im pretty sure its right ive followed the diagram on that link you posted. I can tell you where they all go if your familiar with the harness. Where does one acquire a heater relay ? Parts store said they dont carry it
  18. Thanks guys. Alternator passed test twice and i replaced regulator. So im assuming they are both in working order. So im seeing the same voktage as you except for the red/white going to cluster is only showing 2.4 volts. And the yellow wire coming from alt shows no continuity or voltage. I noticed it tees off into the heater relay , does that play a part ? I can see fried wires behind the heater relay
  19. Forsure . Yeah my alt isnt turning on. Charge light comes on when i turn the key and after i start the truck it stays on. What does your ground coming off the alt go too ? If you have a test light could you do me a favor and see what wire sees power at the L plug on alt ? Either yellow or white/black.
  20. So since i had already wired it all up back to stock and i was only going to get an extra 5 amp by switching over to internal i figured i would make this work. All of my wiring looks to be correct according to the diagram , but i noticed on the diagram the red/white (power) wire that comes off the alt is mounted on the block side of alt and ground is on the side closest to the fender. On mine it looks to be backwards. Ground is on block side power is on other. So my question is , if i switch them to see if mine is incorrect will i short anything out ?
  21. Forsure , im only getting 12 volts. Im just going to get the internally regulated alt and wire it the way datzen mike said.
  22. I think im just going to go for the internally regulated one.. what does it come off of ?
  23. Got the alt tested twice , passed both times. Do you know how i can test the regulator ? They said they dont test them anymore..
