Okay I think I figured out why it's hesitating when I'm giving it some throttle. Gas is leaking

im currently running a Nikki Carburetor on my j13 engine for my 1966 520 pickup

i was wondering if there are any better carburetor options that i could simply bolt on

ive heard talk about webers being good replacement options

is it possible to put 620 or 720 carbs on a j13 engine?

im starting to lean towards the carb on this issue

fuel is getting delivered and the ignition system looks to be okay

i actually purchased a new starter from rock auto and now the truck starts just fine

i have a 1966 520 , it recently started hesitating/ jerking

like its not getting enough gas. it will jerk at low and high speeds

i already replaced the fuel filters

has anyone had similar issues?

My fuel tank is leaking gas where the hard hose/attachment connects to the tank. It's the hose on the left of the picture.

I'm having an issue getting my truck to start correctly. It's 1966 520. So it will start on the first try without any problems but a quick drive to the liquor or gas station were the engine needs to be shut off is when it struggles to start back up. I can hear the starter trying to turn over and after a few turns of the key or just holding the key in it will start. It never fails to start it just struggles. Has anyone had a problem like this?

This transmission would be an F4W63 with a J series bolt pattern. The only Datsun with this is the 520 and the L521 (one year only) I'm afraid. Internal parts only from the later PL521 and 510 with L16 should fit your old one if you know what's wrong with it.
