  1. Here's a link to my Z. Decided to sell it. Price is negotiable. 1970 Datsun 240Z needs work
  2. Wheels on the car. Nevermind the fugged up body, it's getting better.
  3. I just got some used wheels for my Z and the offset puts them out more than I had hoped. I figure they are about a -10mm if I understand how to do the measurements properly. They are 8" wide with a measurement of 3 1/8" from the rear lip to the back of the hub. With them mounted, they sit with about 1" of the width threatening to hit the edge of the fender. What kind of measurements can I take to see if ZG flares will make enough of a difference to use these wheels? Is there a certain amount of clearance from the top of the tire to the fender lip that I wont even need to worry about it?
  4. Been a while since I posted. I am back to working on my Z. Finally got some money to work with so I am ordering a whole mess of parts. Hoping to have most of the work done the weekend of 8/14. Picking up some wheels with used tires tonight. :)
  5. I am looking for some cheap ($300 or less) wheels for my 240Z. Used tires on them would be great. I have some stock steel wheels right now, but I would like something a little better looking just to get my Z back on the road for now.
  6. Yeah, the set I found are energy suspension pollys. Here's the listing: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140199899871 TC rod? Is that the one that goes diagonal back from the strut? If so, I have new rubber ones there now. Any opinion for steering rack? I found rubber and polly available. This is almost 100% street use, if it matters.
  7. tell my boss to hurry up and give me my raise and i'll get them off ya!
  8. Decided yesterday to slow the progress a little bit. I am starting to get anxious and using old bushings n stuff where I really should be going for new while I am doing the work. Today I am going to cut up the old bushing to make myself stick to that plan :) Saving up for some new parts. Found a set of new ball joints and new tie rod ends on ebay from a Z parts store for $150 for both sides. Sound like a good price? How about set of bushings for the rear control arms at $50ish? Thinking about getting the control arms powder-coated. Should I leave the old bushings in so the coating doesnt get into where the bushings go? I imagine the coating would take up space making it harder to get the new bushings in.
  9. Cool. Nice to know the PO did something good for me. I have a match for the front, the driver's side one was just off the car.
  10. Here's a pic of some seats I got at the local pick-n-pull. I think they were from a nissan pulsar. Need to fab some mounts and clean them up, but omg are these seats perfect. Well, perfect for my skinny ass.
  11. Sorry.. fixed the pics. That's what I get for linking to another forum.
  12. Here's a pic of why it's sitting.. And here's a couple of pics of it getting better..
  13. I'll get some more pics up this weekend. Getting new suspension :D I'll use a better camera too :P
  14. That tacoma color is pretty close to what I am going for w/ my Z. The color I want is Subaru's "Newport Pearl Blue"
  15. Hey all, I just joined here because my new buddy down the street pointed me here. He has a Datsun 610 which is pretty sweet. Here's a pic of my Z. This pic is from before an accident that I was in a few years ago. It's been sitting for a while and I finally have a house so I can get it all fixed up. I'll post some pics of my progress too. 1970 240z #2188 '83 L28 with SUs 5spd stick w/ R200 Koni adjustable coilovers in the rear Busted front suspension :-( Plans: Custom interior from scratch including custom console and custom door panels SBC 350 swap, carbed (going for about 250-300HP)
