  1. Thanks guys..once again you've helped alot.
  2. I have looked at that and the problem is that it doesn't show the resistor or the relay switch above the resistor in the engine compartment. There are three wires coming out of it, one of them is a blu/whi but it has been cut. i think I found where it came from but the person who owned the truck before me had this wire going directly to the second set of points and not back into the resistor....I'm just no sure. I'll try to post a pic later maybe that will clear it up.
  3. OK guys I hope you can help. I got some of the wires mixed up as I'm putting my engine back in my 521. It's a stock L16 in a 1972 521. Some of the wiring diagrams I've seen don't match up to what I have. Can I get a picture of the coil/resistor area along with the dizzy. I think I have it but a picture would help. As always thank in advance.
  4. Thnaks....that makes sense now.....wish I didn't have to ask.
  5. I am getting ready to put my new engine back in and I feel like a dumbass. I can't remember if the dust covers go on after or before I attach the engine to the trans, which is still in the car. To make things worse I can't remember how the smaller cover fits onto the two. Any help would be appreciated especially any pictures. It is a stock L16 to a stock 4 speed on a 72 521. Thanks.
  6. Do you still have tghe heater hose for sale...I know it's been awhile since your post.
  7. Thanks guys....that's the video I was thinking of.

    L16 timing

I'm just getting everything back toegether on my stock L16. I'm not sure what's the best way to time the thing though. I thought that there was a great video on this site somewhere but now of course I can't find it. A little help would be greatly appreciated.
  9. How much for the wing windows and how is the rubber in them?
  10. It should be part #40227-32201, that is described as seal-grease, rear axle bearing. Let me know if that isn't it.
  11. I'd like to bid $5.00 for the Driver's side front marker lens & chrome stand off (#521-1) and $5.00 for the horn button (#521-10).
  12. Those are great ideas but after this guy put the JB Weld everywhere he drilled another hole driectly above the old one. The machine shop here in West Sac tried to drill both of them out so they could put in a cast iron plug and the metal was too paper thin. Drilling grazed the oil resevoir area.....so i think I'm SOL. Luckily I found a block from all the great responses I've gotten from the Ratsun members.
  13. Some idiot used JB Weld to patch a hole where the oil snsor goes. When the machine shop tried to put a plug in to fix it the metal was too thin. Drilled right thru it. I need the block for my rebuild.
