They made 720's and R34 in 4 door.

Room for 2 more cylinders in a 720? Not really. VG30, VQ30... something VK45? VEE something.

After seeing so many 240"ute"s It seems people just block off right behind the front seats but the cab of King cab has that little extra room. So clean out behind the front seats, mount seats further back and everything would in someway follow suit. dash is gonna stick out more/ be too wide what have you.but you have that room to work with.

As to why not get a real GTR, honestly have you looked into it? I can get every individual part for an R34 but to just get one to your door and use for Daily status ain't gonna happen so easy. My friend was helping some guy here locally on his Skylines, so its not like its impossible.

The Drivetrain is beast. Fanaggle it into a 720 frame and set the rest on top...go to Lowes and haul lumber with acceleration.

Yeah, I have been day dreaming of buidling a GTR720, full R34 Drivetrain and interior in a 720 king cab.

It would be soooooo comfy.

IDK about much about the importance of engine angle, if anyone does please tell me all...but I think it bolts up to the motor fine but that the angle is off. I can confirm this tomorrow if you want and post up results as I've kinda wanted to for a while and I have the required equipment sitting in the Gayrage.

What kind of drivetrain issues have you noticed?

I have seen this in person. Definitely worth every penny. Cleanest shell of a Datto I have ever seen in person.

Sealik, do you know if the internal casting in the head is any different or does the shizz need to mount to the outside and be the right length?

It just seems there has to be a diesel standalone that could do this. But I know not of diesel, anyone know of a direct inject standalone diesel software?

I'd like to find out if any even exists, third party.

No... I plan on raising meat rabbits soon though, so hopefully this time next year I will have it sorted out and in the crock pot. :)

This seems more like a programming feat rather than a technical/mechanical feat.

Not sure cam driven is the best way to go about it... seems crank driven wouldn't be much harder.

when i say L20, i really meant any L series, l16 or 18 would do too

Looking at other GDI setups. it seems turboing makes air delivery way better, and with the long stroke, it should push lots of exhaust through a turbo. I have that hx35 holset around. A twinscroll manifold would push it quickly.

I feel as if I am trying to figure out how to make my z24 a Direct inject turbo diesel without running diesel. luckily the head seems to be an okay design for it. I am reading fuel ratios like 40:1 so I am sure building up a forged bottom end would be needed as well. I guess I should blow one up NA first. I am guessing the ECU will be the most difficult part.

Not sure if I have a shot of just the cam, but I do have a motor sitting on the floor of the garage to play with.

It has a dual row chain cam sprocket. not sure how many motors were dual row.

okay so cam driven. Didn't earlier datsuns have cam driven mechanical fuel pumps? I think the napz head still has the casting for that but its not drilled out or whatever. Or am I wrong on that?

Some one on NICO asked if they could just make both spark go at the same time or if you could just do away with the hard to reach intake side plugs and just have the exhaust side for spark.

The latter had me thinking if you had only exhaust side spark like the KA24e then couldn't the other port be converted to direct injection. I am pretty sure the z24 is also a HEMI so it seems like it could be a sweet option for a more efficient fuel system and added power.

I don't know all that much about Direct injection and how thats timed...if it is even different at all than a traditional fuel rail.

I'd like to hear any thoughts from more capable minds. To me it seems like it wouldn't take much to rip a system out of a new four banger and mount it up. From the look of the pic on howstuffworks it looks a lot like a normal fuel rail.

I'll check under the cowl and see what I can find. Guessing windshield is not the issue but will keep it in mind. Thanks er'body.

Norfolk, VA. Two 720's pretty near each other on a street near a friend's house.

I noticed some water flowing into my cabin the other day. What is supposed to prevent water from entering the cowl in front of the windshield?

My friend drives a D21 and his is way different.

Anyone else having this issue?
