I don't think my temp gauge works. It only goes to about the first line. I remember my other datto sitting in the middle. I took a meat thermometer and stuck it in the top of the rad and it read 160° F after sitting at Idle for a whole. 165°F after a hard drive.

Your thermostat should open up at 180-190(depending on which rating of thermostat you have). Sounds like you may need a new one.

Mines Doing Literally the Same thing, didnt know if it was normal or not cause its my first Datsun, been driving it alot the last few days and it hasnt gone anything above the first line. Guess i should do the whole Thermometer in my radiator too to be safe lol. got plenty at Work.
