I got the head off! My second time taking an L20 down to a long block and it was a breeze. The head and block look great. The head gasket looks like it's been on there sine 1977. Missing about 2 inches of HG between 2&3 and several gaps around the oil and water channels. I'm gonna go get the head inspected but I can't afford to get it milled right now.,

feeler-gauge and straight edge. A machinist ruler might work !?...

It's not pretty. It is the original engine.First time the heads been pulled off. It's pitted and scarred and it's well worn between 2 &3. I'm gonna hold off till Friday and get it surfaced and cleaned.
