  1. Was just a fuse!! Learned the hard way looks are deceiving! Thanks everyone
  2. Alright thatll be tomorrows job. Plus opening the hood since i put the hood back on and the lock is apparently stuck
  3. Fuses looked good and had 11.4 at the fuses and battery and the hl relay. But with the car running the volt stays the same all around
  4. Yea thats what i thought. Is the alt or volt reg possible? I have no problems starting or surges like its not charging

    No Lights!

    Okay i finally was able to go and get the 411 wagon I bought and drive home with it.. Well along the way we stopped for gas as a just in case type thing. I get back in the car to pull out and once i get on the road I have no headlights. I do not have taillights, or dash lights either but my blinker works!! It's weird everything did work when we left. the IGN had come on after my quick test drive to make sure i felt safe enough driving it since its been sitting for a while and the IGN light was on the entire time. Long story short i got home but still no lights. I got a wiring diagram and am gonna shoot for power at the relay and switch and also replace the fuses. does anyone have any other ideas they think it could be? On the WD there is only one wire that supplies Dash lights, taillights and headlights and it goes from the switch to the HL relay position 1 and the relay diagram says that it goes through what i assume is the coil and comes out to the low beams. Am i wrong for assuming that even if the relay was bad i should still get high or low beams?

    Got it running.. just a combination of the wrong coil and a bad positive battery cable to coil.. Stoked! and I own it now!

    well ive put money down on it while we wait on the title to come in from idaho. then shes mine. If anyone can give me some help getting it started thatd be great. I posted more information on bisquicks thread in the electrical forum.. Thanks!! P.s. I think i'm already a datsun enthusiast.. I've been bit by the datsun bug :cool:

  10. So I am looking at buying bisquick's car and its still having the starting issues. For starters (haha) when the key is first turned both the ign and oil lights stay on. Anyone know what these actually indicate? Headlights and stereo work so there is a little voltage. After that we checked battery voltage~12.5 volts. at the alt it was the same. If you turn the key all you get is a single click. I didnt have time to hotwire the starter solenoid which would verify that as an issue or not. Anyone have any suggestions? Also id like to get a wire schematic to trace some things out with a meter. Lastly the Relays one the right forward firewall what are these for anybody know? I just want her to start :(
