E1 motor, timing chain installation

I posted in the 410/411 forums on here. But I'm asking here as well because we share the E1 motor. My new timing gears are different from the ones that came off my motor.  When I place my new and old timing gears on top of each other with the key ways lined up, the marks are not in the same spot and the gears are off a 1/2 a tooth. On top of that I have not found any good literature on the timing marks for the E1 motor.
