510six
I posted a couple of Porsche kill stories a few days ago, on the flip side you can`t win em all. I was traveling to a car show on the Cal central coast last spring , when I spotted a very clean early 70`s Corvette and decided to put a hurt on it with my 440 rwh T67 510. Well, my car did spool a bit faster to the tune of about 2-3 carlengths until the big T88 turbo started moving air, when the Corvette let off when it was about 10 lengths ahead on me ( which was pretty smart considering the amount of law enforcement on this Hwy). I followed the Corvette and found out it was in the car show. I didn`t feel so bad when I found out was what was in the Vette, T88 turbo , LT1 aftermarket block, AFR heads, FAST EFI, Jerico 5 speed with 835 rwh on race gas and 650 rwh on pump gas/ meth injection. The owner was even quite gracious saying " your 510 fared better than most 600cc sportsbikes". Edited November 8, 2008 by 510six Quote Link to comment

drift ninja
all stories true or not should start like that, but anyway...true...i had a 82 21 coupe and the engine sounded like the pistons were swaping holes but none the less never failed me,as one day traveling down 164th (tha couv) i saw a red 360 modena=ferrari case u didnt know, i pulled up and he laughed at me, so i held it to the floor for 5 sec to achieve a respectable and mostly rediculous amount of r's and the light turned green so i slid off the clutch, he was in amazement or sumpthin cause i got about 3 cars on him before he decided to paddleshift his way by. doesnt he know that canoes, kayaks and row boats are the only things that need paddles? i lost miserably and expectedly but at least i aint scurrred!!!!!!! losing is the only thing i can do exceptionally well with out worrying that i wont Quote Link to comment

This 510 was a 4 door that had been sitting in a field for about 2 years,(L26 bottom end with a N42 head) I did a couple of fiberglass patches and replaced the SU`s with a Holley 390 4bl and put a 490/290 cam as well as a header and a Subie R160 LSD that I had laying around. There were also pieces of my nitrous system sitting around so I plumbed a very simple N20 setup using a single rpm switch as a rev limiter and a full throttle switch, with a single fogger going into a 1/4" to 1/16th npt reducer right below the Holley with a 40 wh shot . After not blowing the motor up on my initial driving testing everthing out on some country roads I decided to head home on a local HWY. I was stopped at a light and a CRX ( which I knew just had a SOHC VTEC conversion, as a friend had done the swap) pulls up next to me looks at my 510, smiles and revs. So I revved back , armed the nitrous and waited for the light to turn green. The CRX really got caught by suprise as the 510 fishtailed hunting for traction up until about 45 mph or so. That 510 really was kind of a POS so I ended up selling it minus the Holley and the header and the cam and the LSD and the nitrous. These parts minus the nitrous ended up on a friends 240z with a L28 and made it into a very respectfully performing car. BTW here are some pics of my fuel system components for the E85 .
