willhill92 Posted July 30, 2013 Report Share Posted July 30, 2013 It seems to have a blank spot mostly in first or second when in low rpms, does this sound like a vacuum leak? I just put a new hitachi carb in had to replace accelerator pump on it but now its has this problem. Quote Link to comment
Robert Posted July 30, 2013 Report Share Posted July 30, 2013 I would do the pump again, double check the float level, and check timing. Symptoms or acc pump can be more pronounced in 1st and 2nd then the higher gears. Also, if you didnt have this before the new carb, then that says its with the carb. Look there first. Other causes can be vacuum advance sticking on dist. Timing off, idle adjustment too lean. Those imo would be the first to check. Pull the acc pump plunger and soak it in brake fluid for a day. Somtimes new carbs have sat for years in the box and the rubber can be hardened and they dont seal good. Quote Link to comment
