1982 200sx 720 driveline mod yoke Q's

well my old post would have ended up way off topic so I figured start a new one! I'm pulling the drive line out of my 720 to mod and put in place of the 200sx's that went belly up (knuckle broke all to heck on front section, staked u-joint in itty bitty pieces, bent slip yoke... couldnt assess damage till it was out) so, ripped the drive line(s) out of my 84 720 (parts truck) with beefy serviceable u-joints, the slip yoke has the same number of splines and its same diameter but its 3/4 on an inch shorter than the one I pulled from the 200sx... do I need to swap the trans tail or will the 3/4 matter all that much? (old one was about 1 1/2 inches out) or do I need to track down a slip yoke eliminator? has any one fitted a 720 drive line to a 200sx or 240sx etc?

oops! auto transmission in the 82 200sx, manual trans in the 720, would swap them but dont have time or money or shop :(
