josh_t Posted October 7, 2011 Report Share Posted October 7, 2011 i have two old air ratchets that i got from a friend from their tools trash pile. one is 3/8 drive and the other is 1/4 drive. the drives are snapped off of both of them. (they said they dont remember how they broke them, they were probably drunk) i took apart the 3/8 drive and the planetary gears look good and are full of grease. so i dont want to toss them out. i want to find another use for them. iirc, they use pneumatic motors to start F1 cars, so maybe i can use the base of the ratchet with the planetary gears to start something like a weedeater or other small engine. does this sound possible? i love tinkering so i just want something to do.
