B25 Posted August 29, 2011 Report Share Posted August 29, 2011 so I was taking the strut insert out of one of my 280zx struts and it looks like the gland nut (the nut that holds the insert/shock into the strut body) is stripped, and so are the strut body threads. does anyone have one of those gland nuts? also, if anyone knows a cheap way to retap the threads inside the strut body, let me know. thanks! ggzilla Posted September 4, 2011 Report Share Posted September 4, 2011 Retapping and a new nut will cost about $45 ??? The nut is available from Nissan. The cheap way might be to get a new strut tube from Pick-N-Pull, only $37. Link to comment
