SR swap - Fuel tank EFI pump

i was talking to someone the other day, modding a tank seems like a bunch of work, and sump etc seems like a pain.


Anyone ever put in a diff tank, like infiniti?

Cant get a measurement on it, but if it fits would be cool no?

I dont own a datsun but i would think that if its a trunk mounted tank then you should be in the clear. Obviously just make sure that its not going anywhere.

ya but if its too wide etc then it wont fit, hence why WE need measurements.

i was perusing ebay and saw this. comments? Would save on cleaning an old 510 tank and welding which both could cost more than a used one of these?

so i was at the junkyard and was able to do a few swaps. Almost forgot about this post!

 

Lexus Gs something about 33 18 16. i didnt try it, bitch to pull with a fuel line out the bottom of the car :/

 

95 Q45 about 33x17x17

 

97 M45 (i think) Aprox 30x18x16

the narrowness of the later model tank fit between the strut towers, but the height was a bit more.

 

all 3 tanks had tarboard on the bottom that was glued, making it a bitch to try and shove in the 510, that coupled with the test car was tapped in the rear and floor was wrinkled/pushed up in the tank area.

Bottom line, will they fit? DAMN close. perhaps with an unwrecked car, clean off the tar, beat the end of the tank a bit with hammer. Might…...

But as it is, throw it in spare tire well, Ratsun fuel cell on the cheap!
