howling on deceleration

I havnt driven my 521 for a while since it has been making some bad noises. It runs and drives great but when I let off the gas and decelerate in gear it has a whirrring noise that goes with the speed of the vehicle.I inspected underneath and found tons of gear oil had leaked out and suspected the tranny.I also found the carrier housing was loose.I swapped out the tranny and t/o bearing and tightened the carrier and it still does the same thing.

I would assume it to be the carrier at this point but maybe someone could say if they have had this before or the best way to check things.Spun engine bearing?Rear end?I have a 620 carrier on a shorter shaft that is nice.Could I swap em out myself?

I dont mind it being down this time of year since the single reservoir brakes suck and I am surrounded with hills.
