murderwagon
ok so i just lowered the 1988 s12 and i have the stock springs out of it . the rear springs are 4.9 inch in diameter and have a spring rate of about 145#. which by my calculations would fit into the front of my 510. I have a early 70 wagon. currently I have the stock springs cut to lower the car about 2 inches. I want to go stiffer and lower . so my over all questions are : 1.) will the springs fit? 2.) what year rabbit insert would be best to shorten the strut 3.) how much do i have to shorten the strut tube 4.) how much should i lower the spring perch 5.) if no one has ever done this. what is the formula to figure out how much the car will compress the s12 springs so i know where to cut them to get my ride height Thanks guys i really want my dime lower and i bottom out now so i want more travel, lower stance, stiffer handling, and better shocks any info or links would be helpful thanks again Quote Link to comment
