chavezYchavez
Guys, I am looking at redoing my bench seat. My father in law has a 75 620 that he said I could have the seat out of his bench has the cutout in the middle. My bench seat does not have the cutout. Now here is my question if I use the factory console in my truck will it work without the cutout in the seat? Quote Link to comment
datsunaholic
I don't think you can use the factory console properly with the '73 anyway, unless you have an automatic or have switched to the longer transmission. With the '73's short transmission the factory consoles (which were only available '75+ AFAIK) would be in the way of the shifter, and you can't push the console up any further because it'd hit the heater box. The notch in the seat was for the shifter being further back, as the shifter would hit the front of the seat when it's all the way forward. Of course, unless you're 5'2" or under you aren't going to have the seat all the way forward anyway. Quote Link to comment
