sdsurf Posted November 8, 2009 Report Share Posted November 8, 2009 So I pulled the column, box, etc and now have finally got everything back together. The tension feels right at the column mount shims, the bearings are moving smoothly and I am happy... In the guide it says to adjust the lash with the adjusting screw on the cover plate. I am clueless on how to do this and measure it. With the shaft all the way down in the sleeve the gears mesh up up ar off about 1/2 inch. If they are flush the cover won't fit.
