datsunfish Posted March 18, 2009 Report Share Posted March 18, 2009 L20 is the very early 6 cylinder so they went with L20b when they introduced the larger 2 litre 4 cylinder in the mid 70s. L series motors come in both 4 and 6 cylinder. Z cars had L20L24L26L28 some compact cars and trucks had L16L18L20b. Quote Link to comment
philip1 Posted March 18, 2009 Report Share Posted March 18, 2009 L20a is a 2.0 liter 6 cylinder the L20b is a 4 cylinder. the L20a was sold in Japan, Australia, New Zeland, etc they were not imported to North America. the L20b is very common the world over and often is referred to as just the L20.
