  1. You wouldn't happen to have any #W58 intake manifolds?
  2. Watch out for sergio33, I got a message from him in regards to my intake manifold wanted ad. I realized quickly that it seemed fishy as he has a brand new account and the guy he referred to that apparently has an intake available doesn't exist on the forum. Here is the message he sent. "Hey, have you try asking Jason94sport about the L20b Intake he has to part out with? If not i will advise you to ask him because the last time i spoke with him, it's still available and he wants to let it go for a very affordable offer. You can email him for a fast response. Bascotbills@gmail.com Have a nice day." Apparently somebody is going around on various car forums using almost the same exact message with that fake jason94sport handle and Bascotbills@gmail.com email. Luckily I figured out this was a scam right away and didn't send any money.

I'm looking to buy an L20b intake manifold, I don't care what it was off of originally as long as it's an independent intake manifold, not one that's joined to the exhaust manifold.

    Ask for price

  4. I did try cleaning both surfaces with a wire brush, if there is any damage then it must have been caused by me as it was good before I took the manifold off the replace the intake/exhaust manifold gasket after trying to repair a crack in the intake manifold which didn't go so well either. I tried using one of the aluminum brazing rods and it cracked again after trying to reinstall the pcv valve so I gobbed rtv over it for the time being.
  5. Yes! That's right. And I finally found a photo of one online. http://datsun1200.com/uploads/photos/22644.jpg I
  6. I really can't find any photos online of a manifold like mine. Another issue is that the gasket would have to be really thick to fill the gap as the tapered flange piece sticks out quite a ways. I can try to take a picture tomorrow because I feel like I'm not explaining things very well.
  7. From the looks of it, no gasket is required. It looks like the piece at the flange is supposed to fit the bevel in the manifold outlet, but no matter what I do I can't get it to seal. Do I slop it up with muffler cement, or is there a better option? Edit- Forgot to say this is on my 1978 HL510 goon.
  8. That's how it goes, can't pass up a good deal! Some may call me a hoarder😂
  9. I wouldn't call myself an enthusiast but I did just pick up two 1982 Yamaha Virago 920s for free. Neither run and neither came with a title, I plan on having the vin numbers ran to see if they are stolen. If not, then I'll apply for a bonded title for the better bike. https://imgur.com/a/rz7zhqK
  10. I haven't posted for a while, thought I'd give an update on my 78 HL510 goon. I was going to take photos after each step but kinda got into the project and forgot until I was almost done. https://imgur.com/FAUsjFV https://imgur.com/cQUwTS9 https://imgur.com/d4QwgFg My carpet installing skills are far from perfect but it ended up turning out halfway decent. It's better than it was and definitely quieter with the sound deadening material and carpet. Next on the agenda is adjusting valve lash and replacing the clutch.
  11. Ah okay, well hopefully if I keep on top of the maintenance now they won't give me any issues. I needed to replace the front wheel bearings anyways, so I just did the whole shebang.
  12. I definitely made sure to use a liberal amount! Next time I do this job I hope for it to be a bit easier!
  13. Are you saying there is something wrong with this style of calipers, or are you just saying you wouldn't drive with the pads being worn to nothing? The new pads and slide pins are in already and the brakes are working well. I also replaced the rear brake hose as it was cracking.
