The 521/620 720 and D21 Hardbody WD21 Pathfinder and probably Xterra all use the same 6 lug pattern. Toyota/Mazda/Isuzu  6 lug also fit as does GM and Ford.

I sent you a private message with a calculator tool for comparing what you have now with what might work. There is no easy answer for this, you have to make some measurements and plug the numbers in. Generally stock rims are probably zero offset but this can be confirmed with a tape measure.

Would you send me this calculator as well please?

  2. Looking for some advice again. As I get ready to rebuild the engine I’ve thinking to go with arp fasteners, a mech stage 3 cam from O&J, with mech lifters, springs, their head gasket and getting the head ported & polished.

but for piston I’m thinking about arias pistons with a 10.7 comp ratio, carillo rods. Any suggestion?

Taka did my carbs as well, make sure to check all your jets are tight. I had one loose in the bottom which I was fighting for days trying to figure out.  Only found out when I took one apart to check to see if it was tight.

Will do. Thanks for the heads up!

  4. Yes the mikuni’s are definitely hard to come. But I have a pair of mikuni’s 44 already. Got them from Japan, and now being rebuilt by Kyusha House. I have a matchbox distributor but think of getting a new Hot spark one.

As for the manifold still looking I know they’re out there, so if anyone has seen a one I would appreciate the help in sourcing one. I do know Troy Ermish makes them too.

  5. I’ll will be using an electronic distributor, without ballast, and I’m able to use an oil gear from an L engine to run it. No EFI, I know it’s a bit different and maybe dated but it’s what I want from te build. Mikuni 44 on and kae24e I think it’s just different and what I’m looking for.

  6. I hear what you’re saying but it’s going to happen. I will not use Icehouse because I’m not running EFI. I’m running mukuni 44’s.

this truck is staying with me forever, it’s something my kids are helping me with. There won’t be a resale. And I’ve already started on build a new harness. You guys willl just have to wait and see. It won’t be as extreme as BIGTANKER, but she will be a dime!

Look at thread for swapping a KA above. There are a couple guys that sell harnesses.  @Icehouse sells a kit IIRC.

Ok thanks. I’m not going EFI since imma run mikuni carbs, I was more speaking in terms of just the normal wiring. But I’ll reach out to him too!

  8. So just an update since I finally got back from over sea:

Going with a ka24e, with mikuni 44’s, with an s14 trans I’m rebuilding.

One major issues is the wire for the car. I’ve ripped out the old and looking a build a new one. Was thinking about going with the American autowire highway 22, any thought or suggestions?

  9. It’s all possible I suppose, but I’m either going to take on an L20B or KA24DET or SR build. I’m gonna keep her true to her roots and stay Nissan for powertrain.

Looks like it's got a bunch of touch-up/respray, probably its share of hidden surprises.

KA is starting to feel pretty old to me. Why not something newer?

What do you have in mind? I’m open to suggestions. If I did got KA it would definitely be a turbo.

I wouldn't touch the body. Looks great.

There's an old saying - A vehicle can be restored 100 times over, but it's only original once.

I completely understand that but there are a few rot and rust spots that need attention. Plus it gives me a chance to do everything in phases with my son!

    Can't wait to see it.

You should see Ray's 521. He lives down there somewhere.

If you give me is user I’ll ask him if I can come check it out!

  14. Good morning guys. I’m pretty new to the 521’s, so I figured I should start my own thread for the question/suggestion that I know will be coming.

I have a 72 521. I plan on completely stripping her down to the chasis and building her back up with tasteful mod’s and updating. I’ll be posting photo’s of the process as we go along.
