  1. Is that called the output shaft seal or the input shaft seal? Should I just replace both?
  2. Great info. Release bearing ordered and will pick up some oil here today or tomorrow. Will reused my slave as it is almost new. My speedo currently reads 5 MPH fast. I will install the tranny then once I know how far it is off I will pursue fixing it. Thanks for the information amigo!
  3. I have acquired a long tail 5 speed from a late model 620 to put in my 73 620 which has the short 4 speed. I have also got the crossmember and the front shaft from the 5 speed truck. Besides a new clutch kit are their any other items I should get before embarking on the swap? Searched the 5 speed swap threads and read a lot but just want to make sure my truck isn't down for days once I pull the trans. Thanks for any help!
  4. I have a 73 620 with the small booster. I used the rebuild service on RockAuto.com. It is like $80 bucks. Sent it off and had it back in about 10 days. As soon as you pay for it on RockAuto they send you an email with instructions on how to ship and they provide a shipping label that you can print.
  5. You mean the new halogen bulbs? or the old ones? I did show the old from the front of the vehicle side by side with the LED. Super yellow.
  6. Agreed...although i will say, they do get worse with time. My drivers side low beams reflector paint/coating was about half gone, so much of the light was going out the back of the bulb.
  7. So......in an attempt to be able to see while driving at night I swapped my old school halogens for some Octane Lighting 5 3/4 inch LED headlights. I chose these because they are glass and don't look to wild and they had decent reviews. The light output is just amazing compared to what I had. They are so bright and have an even beam pattern that cuts off appropriately. The lenses came with halogens installed but also came with a set of LED bulbs to replace them. The install is pretty much just swapping the LED bulb into the lens and then putting in the new lens housing in place of the old ones; plug and play. They even have locating tabs where they are supposed to be. Aside from one bulb having a tab in the wrong spot probably due to some low quality control and the deflector being just a tad off center I would say I am super happy with them. I made a video showing some of the install and a side by side comparison of driving down the road with them. Here are some pics of them installed and the link to the video. If you just want to see the light comparison just skip to the last half of the video. Hope you future is bright! Octane LED Comparison Video
  8. Evening Ratsun! I am getting all the electrical sorted on my 73 620. After refurbishing the light switch I noticed these two connections coming off the back of the speedo...a bullet style and a spade style. I have one bullet style wire connection in the harness that isn't plugged into anything but according to my wiring diagram that wire (blue and white) goes to the clock which I don't have. Any idea what plugs into these if anything?
  9. Thanks Mike. I am going to go take a look. I appreciate the education. Will update.
  10. Probably needs to he put on a trailer. I don't have any space for it at the moment.
  11. $800 , no title. The car is located in Camp Verde, AZ.
  12. Can anyone help me ID this transmission? Owner says it is a close ratio 5 speed from a 620 4x4. I didn't think there were factory 620 4x4s. That is what is throwing me off. Any way, it is in storage but he had these pics of it. I have a 73 620 with L16 and it looks like I have the shorter trans and this one looks right to me but...I am a n00b and don't want to drive to Phoenix to get it if it is a no go. Could this be the 5 speed for me? Any input would be appreciated.
  13. Rad Mike, thanks for the info. I will look for my 5 speed elsewhere 🙂
  14. Okay gents, thanks. I think the lady doesn't know what she has. It looks like it is a B310 like 80-82? She swears it is a 78 B210 but the vin plate/tag says Type: KPB310 Chassis No: JN1PB04S8B9246977 Model: KPLB310EUC (last two digits illegible so may be wrong) Color, Trim: 809 B Engine: A15(S) 1488 Trans Axle: FS5W60A HB37 Thanks for the help!
