1974 620 needs a replacement radiator fan that is in better shape. Mine has begun to warp and is rather gouged. This is a clutchless fan with 35mm bolt spacing and a max diameter of 330mm. part number: 21060-A4600 or 21060-N0100

  2. Thanks! I'll try out the wanted ad. I definitely want to replace it as the warping became more apparent when I cleaned it a few minutes ago. Two of the four blades have some whiter "stress" marks where they have bent forward a bit. Speaking of shroud - I had no idea that it was supposed to have one! It wasn't there when I got the truck and I've since replaced the radiator with a slightly thicker aluminum one (there seemed to still be plenty of front-to-back clearance with the stock fan). I imagine on such a small engine with a larger radiator the missing shroud shouldn't cause any issues. Digging further into these alternate part numbers.. I found part number 21060-H5700. It appears to be for sale here. If this is a real listing... should it work? Another option appears to be part number 21060-U2000 shown here as a 350mm alternative... as I do not have a shroud I expect the extra cm on the radius should be fine.
  3. I've been hunting and it looks like there are possibly fans off different vehicles that may fit my 1974 620 (clutchless fan). 21060-A4600 (and maybe 21060-N0100) are the part numbers. It has a 4 blade fan with 4 bolts attaching it and the pulley to the water pump. My current fan has clearly made contact with something in the past (maybe the old radiator when somebody revved it up? not sure) and is not in good shape. It is a bit warped so I would like to replace it. Trying to find a direct replacement has been difficult, as it seems a lot of folks switch over to an electric fan. I'd like to keep this engine as simple as possible and avoid adding an electric fan. I did find this eBay listing that looks about right - but no idea about the bolt spacing/diameter/offset and it is coming from Thailand so..yea it would be quite the wait. I also found another listing that looks very similar to me (slightly pricier.. not sure how much a plastic fan blade should cost). I still need to double check the bolt spacing on my fan. [edit: this does not appear correct. the bolt spacing on mine is 35mm] Does anyone have a suggestion on how to find a replacement? Just need something that fits! Thanks in advance 🙂
  4. Update: had an idea after staring at the photos that there are two types of studs. It started looking like one set was slightly more narrow, and yep. I needed to swap the studs on the left with the ones on the right. The carb can now just scrape by the threads. The center of the studs does not line up with the center of the mounting holes on the carb, but they can get through now. thanks for the replies, and sorry for being a dummy!
  5. With the current orientation of the adapter the studs near the valve cover are correct, and fit the carb no matter which way I turn it. The ones on the right (original hitachi bolt spacing) are too close together. It’s strange to have an adapter plate that matches my engine but not the carb it came with...

  7. Hello! I've read a lot of great info here but haven't found the answer to an issue I just had an hour ago. I bought a weber carb kit and it came with an adapter plate. It looks different than the ones I've seen posted here and on YouTube, where mine only has 2 hex bolts that mount it to the original threads in the intake manifold. 2 of the studs thread into the adapter only (the side closer to the valve cover), and 2 go through the adapter and into the intake manifolds original threaded locations. These two are closer to each other than the others, and do not line up with the holes on the weber. I can't flip/rotate anything to make it work any other way. it is like this adapter does not match the weber, but does fit on my manifold... I'm lost on what to do now. I've contacted the person I purchased it from and hope to hear back but he has never seen this before. Here are 3 photos that hopefully show what I'm trying to explain. note: the third photo shows the throttle cable bracket (yes, I know it goes above the carb, but it goes on the same studs so I wanted to show that it too has wider spacing than the adapter plate). Thanks! imgur.com/a/zFbO25t
