Hi All, I am currently finishing up my restoration and have come to a roadblock, I can not seem to get the wipers, horn, or turn signals working, The headlights work, as well as the hazards. Only one side brake light works, but when the hazards are on all the bulbs flash. I have replaced the hazard relays, they are both new. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Or where I can source a L18 motor ? I have seen some L20B for sale but not any L18, I live in PA so that does not help!

I appreciate the long and insightful replies, what intake would you recommend? I think I should find the carbs and do an exhaust first then later swap to a motor upgrade!

Thank you for all of the great advice, I totally agree with what you are saying, so let me ask this question, what should I start with now that I can swap onto a better and bigger motor later on. I have a stock L16 at the moment with a A87 head a weber downdraft. Should I get a header and dual 44's? I know that would be the ideal setup for a beefed up motor but how would that run on my current setup. Only reason I ask is I would prefer not to have to buy stuff like carbs twice. Should I get the head built up to a better spec and get carbs and then run the stock bottom for a while, then when I am ready build a L18 bottom? Ideally id love to do any upgrades that I can transfer over to a better faster motor now, if that makes sense. I really appreciate the advice.

I believe I misspoke in the previous comment, I fully expect it to cost more then 2,000. Thank you for the reply with info for a cheaper build. What would be the ideal setup for an L18, I know it will cost a lot, that is okay with me. I am just trying to learn what all I need so I can start searching for the parts. What head would be best? Mods to the head? etc

I fully expect it to cost more then 2,000, I wanted to just see some recommendations on what people do. Sadly power is not cheap...

Thank you, aiming for 180-190HP, I know some 510 race cars are making 230 out of an L18, not sure if they are bored or not. what all would you suggest for head work? and what head to start with?

It needs to be an L18 to race legally. Otherwise I would for sure get a L20B
