Hey guys, I'm having a bit of trouble right now regarding the steering box hitting the control arm? Every time I steer to the left it rubs against each other and it tends to make the steering to the left harder? Also since this is my first ever car without power steering is it really supposed to be difficult to fully turn the wheel? They're able to completely make a U turn without any hassle? I'm not sure if I need a new steering box or not..

Previous owner said that it has to do with the lights. I know at least two switches are for the low beams and high beams but I don't really know what the other two are for :/. But he stated that the car was originally supposed to be used as a track car.

Thanks guys. Oh yeah I noticed that his brother has another Datsun. But yeah, noticed that the dash wasn't from a 69 which I don't mind because I think it looks better :D

After waiting for what felt like a life time I finally was able to buy my first Datsun! Its a 1969 510 that has a ka24 engine swap. Cant wait to see what is in stores in the near future :D

Hey guys, so I just recently bought myself a 1969 Datsun 510. Pretty stoked on it! But anyways, the previous owner of the vehicle said that the stock gauges won't work/correspond with the ka24 engine. None of the gauges work at all. So what gauges will work for the ka engine?? Thanks!

Just contacted the guy. There aren't any major rust on the car at all from what he says. Meeting up with him tomorrow to get a better look at it haha. Hopefully this is the one!

Alright guys I think I found a car that is actually worth it's price. Swapped out the stock l16 engine with a KA24 and there seems to be no rust at all. Will have to message him more info on the car though http://losangeles.craigslist.org/sgv/cto/4971482419.html

I was interested in the car before and just wanted to know a little more about it since the previous owner commented and was able to help out what was up with the car when he sold it. Thanks amwalker! This also helped me out in what to look for when buying a Datsun!

Hey Adam, it's me Jesse. How much rust was there when you sold the car? Was it fully functional as a daily driver when you sold it? Haha yeah this thread was heading out of track. It's so tempting to buy a 510! But it's best to not rush it and end up getting ripped off.

Is that a user on this forum? I tried looking it up and couldn't find a website assuming it is one.
