This has probably been covered before but I can't seem to find much info on it. I just replaced the water pump on my 1985 720 4wd. I didn't keep track of the volume of fluid I drained out but it seems that for both the flush and the final fill I put it in less than 2 gallons when it should take 2.6. After draining the radiator using the petcock, I filled it to the top, ran it till it warmed up and then topped it off. I'd say I put about 1.75 gallons in each time.
Am I missing something? It's not running hot so I suspect it has enough fluid in it but that I am not fully draining the system. If this is the case, how do I get the rest of the coolant out. One thing I noticed is that my radiator cap is weeping a bit, maybe that the system isn't coming up to pressure?
Thanks for any help on this
