  1. Yeah. Its one shaft that goes from the oil pump to the dizzy.
  2. I am going to pull the oil pump shaft again and take a picture to show you. I noticed that the dimple was not in the same position as the old oil pump shaft. If that makes sense. So setting both shafts with the dimple at the oil squirter on the oil pump. The timing of the dizzy would be completely different. With the new oil pump shaft. The dizzy is lined up at the 1 coil position. If I line up the dimple with the old one. The position would be way off from one on the dizzy. Hope that is understandable. Thanks
  3. Would being off 1 tooth cause it not to start? I thought it would start but run rough.
  4. So I got the new oil pump shaft. Installed it. Made sure it was in correctly. Dizzy lined up correctly to tdc. Still won't start. Seems like the timing is off. I pulled valve cover. Set at tdc. Cam is off by 1 tooth. Is it possible the chain jumped causing the oil pump shaft to break? I am going to get a tensioned and new chain. Tear it down and try again.
  5. I guess that is what happened. The dizzy spins freely and the oil pump is fine and pumps fine.
  6. I watched your Vid Hainz. Pretty helpful. I am pulling the oil pump tonight. I got another spindle coming hopefully Friday I will get it. The rotor spins freely now. and the broken shaft turns when I crank. Which leads me to believe that the oil pump is good. Thanks,
  7. I got a question. What would cause the oil pump shaft to break. Would it be the dizzy that seized or the oil pump that is binding. Or is this just a common problem. Below are some pics. When I removed the broken piece. I tried to crank and the shaft turned. It seemed ok. The rotor moves freely with the dizzy out as well. So that seemed ok as well. . broken piece Thanks.
  8. So I took out the dizzy. The oil pump shaft is broken. The end that slots into the dizzy was broken off. Going to look around for a new one Thanks.
  9. It was not taken apart since I got it. Which is about 2 years. So that is not possible. I am going to take the dizzy out when I get home. Glad it is not raining here today. Nah, I won't sell it . I was thinking this. I am going to pull the dizzy when I get home and see what is happening with it. Thanks
  10. It does not turn freely. It does not turn Mike.
  11. Yeah. Mike said to check if the rotor was turning. When I crank. It does not turn.
  12. I got to check the 510 the morning. The rotor is not turning. Takeing a look at the other stuff.
  13. ^^ I will test it when I get home.
  14. What I was thinking and I may be wrong. Since I am better at fabrication more than electrical. If I am getting power at the positive terminal on the coil. And the wire for that comes from the box and then from the dizzy. I should be getting power at the dizzy. But the negative part I am missing/not getting. Am I overthinking this? or completely off path. I will check as soon as I get home if the rotor is turning when I crank. Sorry Mike I forgot to check this last night. Thanks
  15. So traced the wires this morning before heading to work and took some pics. Here are the wires coming out of the dizzy. There are only 2. Then it goes to some spade connections. Then goes into this box. Guessing this is the missing box we were looking for. Both wires go into here. 1 comes out. Then 1 wire comes out of the box. It splits. Goes to the lower connection of the ballast in the pic and the yellow positive wire on the msd coil. Would the dizzy just go bad like that all of a sudden. No warning? It ran fine like this for about 2 years now on this setup since I got it. Thanks
