  1. Any idea where to get this gauge?
  2. I am on my way to getting my 320 going, got the engine started, then found another truck with a nicer body but no engine, so I removed the working engine and I am now putting into a nicer body. So I have started replacing all the lines that the rats have eaten since the truck last ran in the 80's. I came across my temp. gauge, that is I guess its my temp. gauge, it screws into the side of the block and is made up of a very small copper tube, I mean very small, took me a while to realize it wasn't solid copper. Anyway, I am having no luck finding a replacement, anyone have any ideas. My buddy at my local auto parts store says he thought it could be rebuilt, but I am at a loss who could do this. He also told me it came as a full unit with the gauge already attached to the line? I have no idea?!?! Any help would be great. Thanks, Tom
  3. Anyone know what oil and transmission fluid are best for my 320? Finally got my carb rebuilt and I am going to try and start her up after 25 years.
  4. I think I am going to keep the original brakes for now. I would like to keep the original components including tracking down a original air filter cover, if anyone has an extra they would like to sell.
  5. Ya rats. Someone had put on a after market air filter, rats had eaten through the filter nestled into the carb, making a nice home.
  6. Hello all, Cracked open my new 65 l320 today. I have my work cutout for me!!! Looks like rats set up a home in the carburetor and air filter for the last twenty years. Oh well, anyway I am going to have the carb rebuilt, my engine seems in pretty good shape for not having been run since 1986. My brake and clutch slave cylinders, on the other hand, are in desperate need of a rebuild. Does anyone know of a rebuild kit for these? I assume they are original, the brake is a Nabco 3/4, the clutch a Nabco 5/8. Also I drained the oil and transmission fluid. What oil should I put back in, and I assume it doesn't matter for transmission fluid? Sorry if these are dumb questions, I am new to the Datsun world.

Thanks so much for all the info, I am going to start breaking down the engine this coming week, so we shall see what I am in for. The truck hasn't run in twenty years, the engine seems dry, so I am not sure if water is a problem. Looks to me that mice and or squirrels were using the engine as a storage compartment and a bathroom. The carb was open and full of craps. Seeing this has led me to believe I should break down the engine first. Or do I go for it and try nd fire it up?

    320 parts for sale

just joined the forum so I might be too late. I need a steering wheel and all trim for a 65 l320. I also need grill and front and rear bumpers. Do you have any of this left/or lying around? Thanks, Tom Schmidt Culver City, Ca.

I recently acquired my dream truck, 1965 Datsun l320, I now know what you have all known for so long, what a great looking truck. Now if I could get it running!!! My truck is rough, but what do you want for 500 bucks. Anyway, I see the threads for engine gasket kits, but I cant find any? Can someone give me a website or link to get a complete gasket kit for my engine. I can't find detroit gasket anywhere on the web and the napa part number on the forum does not come up when I go to napa? Also, anyone know of a place to get front and rear bumpers and grill? and any trim, my truck looks like someone removed all emblems, grill, trim and bumpers in hopes to paint it, then forgot about it for the last 20 years. Unfortunately they never made it to wherever the truck ended up. Any help for a newbee would be great. Thanks, Tom Schmidt Culver City, Ca.
