ok i looked everywere and it seemed so hard to do a alternator swap in my datsun iv got a 69 510 4dr with a L20b outa a 76 620 pickup after seeing some pretty crazy swap setups and custome brkates i whent down and bought a GM single wire alternator drilled out the tapped hole on it and it bolted right up to the stock mount on the engine used 1 washer to space it so the belt was straiter, and hooked up the one wire and havent had a problem with it after daily driving it for 2 weeks now. just though id let people know how easy it really is.

the wiring im going thu and checking all conections somthing is back feeding and the wire is hot going to the ingnition i followed a diagram i got from on here will try to find the link and put in te new alternator and still no charge i belive it hast to do with a blue and white wire going from were the voltage regulator since i have an internaly regulated one now i dont need it the diagrram showed that u jump 4 of the 6 wired in te regulater plug the 2 that dont get jumped are the blue and white and the ground but the ground has a splice and is grounded befor it gets there any ways.

ok so im having a bit of wiring problems so i replaced the ignition so tht it wasnt a turn by screwdriver switch there was one wire that threw me off its got power and its not threw the ignition its black and white stripe wire under the dash looking at a couple diagrams i belive its the one that gose threw the flashers in the fuse box? not sure really i put in a alternator from in a 72ish? 620 probly i had it tested and then hooked it all up and still no charge so i have looked for wirring diagrams and cant seem to find anything.... so any ideas or links?

iv got a 1969 510 4 dr and there are random bolts missing like in the bell houseing! and some from in the interior and dash paneles just wondering if someone knew what thread counts and sizes are maybe some comon ones?

well i just ordered up a webber carb today should be here just in time for x-mas haha

http://s1194.photobucket.com/albums/aa361/anthonydeb/?action=view&current=IMG_0935.jpg this is a pic of the rear disk on my 69 510 looks like i would have to cut out that little triangle pice in order to setup a e brake cable ? i have seen pics were the caliper is mounted bolth on top and under the rotor dose this pos make a dif? my thought was to move it to the top and then would have plenty of room ? or i can just leave them uner and hack off that tab ?

ok yes iv noticed that on my carb that wire just gose nowere... im also having trouble with it idleing without using the choke well geting it to run all all the time without the choke

so on my 69 510 it has the swap to 87 maxima disk and 200sx rotors i see this is fairly comon but my queshtion is what are people doing for a e-brake? i already searched it and didnt come up with anythng. so any one have this setup ?

what exactly dose the idle cutoff solenoid do?
