  1. Guys, thanks for all advice, those were of great help, I worked on the weekend with the truck and nuned as best as possible, and it did pass, just below the limits, ..! :) thanks again, this forum is very valuable
  2. Daniel , thanks starting to work on the settings, I have the right to a re-test after failing, so will take few hours to try to tune this thing, I have not problems driving, trucks drives fine, if that doesn;t work may have to try something else.
  3. Daniel and Datson4life, I moved to Utah, and had to do the emissions as my sticker was about to expire, before I was on Texas, finding that here i had to do this., :( CO is high while Idle , but ok on high rpms, my truck is 1971 so is not exempt, :( The following vehicles are exempt from Utah emissions inspections: New vehicles with Manufacturer’s States of Origin (MSOs). Vehicles under 2 years old. Vehicles model year 1967 and older ONLY in Davis, Salt Lake, Utah, and Weber. Vehicles model year 1968 and older ONLY in Cache. Motorcycles.
  4. Thanks guys, I will try to work the carb settings first., I will follow-up this post. thanks again.
  5. Hi Ratsun community, I have tried to research in the forums but could not find anything , at least not to for my query. I have a Datsun 521 truck, well it did not pass emissions test, the previous owner put a weber carb and look it is delivering to much gas for what the spark plug can manage, I was told that upgrading to an electronic ignition setup will help to burn the extra gas, without modifying the carb, the distribuitor I have has a dual points distribuitor, my truck is 1971, I found in the forum that pertronix is more for a single point distribuitor than dual set, does any of you can point me to a match for my distribuitor? or is loking a distruibitor replacement a better option? does any of you know or is selling one in good working conditions? I like to work on my truck but I'm bery dummy when looking into parts numbers and matches for swapping things around, thanks Israel.
  6. 69Ronin, Thanks, I did got the Banjo and is working, however may need to replace the right wheel, thanks for sharing this.
  7. Thanks Daniel, I just called the one in Salt Lake, when I'm currently, they don't have it, thanks again.,
  8. @Wayno, if you have it, how much for it? B) you can send me an email to izzyboy@live.com thanks
  9. Yes!!! total lenght is about 1 3/4 just the portion of the thread and banjo nut , <a href="http://s468.photobucket.com/user/Izzyboy_01/media/20150102_111648.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i468.photobucket.com/albums/rr41/Izzyboy_01/20150102_111648.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo 20150102_111648.jpg"/></a> it seems to be a 3/8 diameter.
  10. Hi Ratsun community, asking for help, I have a Datsun 521 that was servicing the brakes, but when working the right side , the Banjo bolt of the wheel cylinder broke, have been unsuccessful to find it in any parts store, do you guys know where or how to search for it ? thanks in advance and happy new year to all.
  11. Hi, what engine is this? it looks beautiful. Israel.
  12. Hi, I'm new on this forum, let shre you that just few weeks back I bought this 4 door truck (Im in Mexico border with El Paso Tx, ) it was commun that Mexico regulations did not helped to have the latest technology on the past yearspecially on cars, this is the case of Nissan/Datsun, for the pickups offered in Mexico all were sell with the engine J1800 and 4 Speed Trans until the 1990 when the 2.4L was then stock. Well as you can see this truck need much work, I want to do something with it but not sure if doing an engine swap or trying to have it just upgrading the transmission to the 5 speed, which I'm not sure how to look for it, if any has any guide on how to find a tranny to match this engine that will be great I will try that first if not luck then probably will move to the engine swap option, the current J18 is strong a runs pretty good, no oil leaks and a decent cilinder compression average on the cilinders is 95, which I was told by the mechanicall is very good. I will start replacing fenders and hood as it has some damage, all chasis and cab is rust free. want to upgrade the front breaks as those are drum brakes. the idea is to have soemthing to play with but also want to give it a nice look, still not sure if going for higher look or just stok, so any idea is more than welcome, i have not seen trucks like this one respored or tunned. here the pics. and thanks. Israel.
