jnec510 Posted October 30, 2011 Report Share Posted October 30, 2011 Tittle says it all. So I could figure out why my brand new mechanical fuel pump crapped out until I looked in my fuel filter. Rust :-( so I when back through the line to the tank an found about a 1/4" of sediment in the bottum of the tank. So I tried the penny trick. Dumped about 10$ worth of pennies and another 1.5 gallons of gas and started swinging it back an forth. About 2 hours of that and still had way to much in there. So tookthe tank to my buddies machine shop and threw it in the jet wash for a couple hours. Still not clean. I know locally mac radiator used to open the tank clean it and reseal it but that's a 140$ I really don't have. And honestly for that much I would convert to a cell. So if your local and have a extra gas tank taking up space and want to let it go for a ratsun price please let me know. Thanks for reading, jason Link to comment
